Camp Hope at the LI Aquarium

On Oct. 19, the hospice team at NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk hosted Camp Hope at the Long Island Aquarium in Riverhead. Camp Hope is a free, full-day event designed to support children grieving the loss of a loved one. The day included opportunities for sharing, remembering, and commemorating in a nurturing and playful environment.

Thanks to a generous $10,000 donation from the Patchogue Rotary Club, this year’s event welcomed 24 children and 14 family members, who participated alongside volunteers from NYU Langone Health. As part of the day’s activities, children, family members, and volunteers painted an aquarium-themed mural, which will be displayed at the Patchogue Rotary Club.
