With autumn just about arrived, the Twilight Market has officially returned to Bay Shore at the Bay Shore Bandshell. The opening night took place on Friday, Sept. 18 from 3 to 9 p.m., with the Bay Shore Chamber of Commerce working with the South Shore Farmer’s Market.
Southbound hit the bandshell at 6 p.m. with a blend of country hits. While the band rocked out, many vendors were selling their wares.
Cruelty-free beauty brand Kat Beauty had a variety of butters and natural candles and balms to offer, and L.I. nut butter brand Laurel’s Butter had plenty of flavors to try. Urban Tails Treats offered plenty of treats, but not for people. Their client of choice is pups and cats, offering dried salmon, minnow, chicken and bacon treats.
Brooklyn-based Bakery Sal & Jerry’s Bakery packed out several tables with Italian treats and delicacies, from crumble cakes, rolls, donuts, to pies and more. Other bakers were also attending with their own types of treats. Cake Crave Co. baked up some fresh cakes and cookies, and Really Crumbly Cakes had their own tins of crumbly cakes to offer, with the tagline, “Messy never tasted so good.”
For those looking for refreshments, a fresh beer could be bought from Jones Beach Brewing Co.
The Twilight Market will continue every Friday from 6 to 9 p.m., with the last date being Oct. 23. Each night has a different blend of music to share. On the Oct. 25, DJ Chris Fisher will visit for Reggae Night, while on Oct. 2, The Chasing Times Band will play out. Oct. 9 will be the market’s Funk Night, and Oct. 16 will bring nostalgia with ’80s and ’90s hits. The final night on Oct. 23 has the Duo of P & D closing out the season.
