Posted

Long Island Rail Road president Robert Free came to Patchogue to dedicate a plaque at the Patchogue railroad station to the late LIRR vice president of operations and North Patchogue resident, Dan Cleary Sr. Free considered Cleary a mentor.

Cleary Sr. was a longtime North Patchogue resident and former vice president of operations for the Long Island Rail Road.

In 1990, Cleary was named vice president of railroad operations charged with overseeing the day-to-day operations of all departments within the railroad.
