Bellport High School seniors Meghan Joan Maragioglio and Elie Malcom, Patchogue-Medford High School seniors Addison Ruland and Evan Fraser, and William Floyd High School seniors Emma DiMaio and Ja’quan Thomas were recently honored at the 26th annual Butch Dellecave Awards held recently at Villa Lombardi’s in Holbrook.

Named in memory of the late Gaetano “Butch” Dellecave, the legendary educator, coach, and official, the award is a collaboration between the Economic Opportunity Council of Suffolk Inc., the Butch Dellecave Foundation, and Newsday. The program is built on a 26-year partnership with Suffolk County school districts.

Each high school in the county is invited to nominate one male and one female member of its senior class. Finalists must demonstrate a rare combination of athletic prowess, academic achievement, and meaningful civic involvement.

“The Dellecave Awards shine a spotlight on exceptional graduating seniors from across Suffolk County,” said Adrian Fassett, president and CEO of the Economic Opportunity Council of Suffolk. “These nominees have distinguished themselves through athletic excellence, academic commitment, and service to others. We are proud to help celebrate their achievements and the promise they hold as future leaders in our communities.”
