‘10 Little Ants’

Mastic Beach author Kim Feliciano is out with a new children’s book.

“10 Little Ants,” which was published earlier this month by Austin Macauley Publishers, helps youngsters practice their counting skills as they follow the activities of a group of hardworking ants.

The book is geared to readers ages 2 to 6, said Feliciano, who is married and the mother of four grown children and grandmother of four.

“It’s an educational book,” said Feliciano, who is an educator at Suffolk County Farm in Yaphank. “It’s good for little readers. It’s very colorful.”

“10 Little Ants” isn’t Feliciano’s first foray into writing a children’s book. Her first book, “Edna the Egg,” was published in 2022.

Feliciano said the idea for her latest book came from her son Jonathan’s fascination with ants when he was small.

Feliciano said she read the book to her grandchildren, who gave it a rave review.

“I always test my books out on them,” she said. “Of course, they like it,” she laughed. “It’s grandma’s book!”

“10 Little Ants” is available on Amazon and barnesandnoble.com and from Austin Macauley Publishers. It sells for $9.95 in paperback, $24.95 in hardcover, or $4.95 as an ebook.
