Lane closures on William Floyd Parkway over next few weeks

Posted

The New York State Department of Transportation recently announced that motorists should expect lane and ramp closures at the Long Island Expressway (Interstate 495) and William Floyd Parkway (Suffolk County Route 46) interchange in the Town of Brookhaven, Suffolk County.

Beginning on Monday, March 2, there will be closures for maintenance to the LIE bridge over William Floyd Parkway, which will be in place for approximately three weeks.

Weeknights from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., the ramp from South Service Road to northbound William Floyd Parkway will be closed.  Additionally, only one lane on northbound William Floyd Parkway will be open.

Electronic variable message signs will be in place and relay updates to motorists.

As with most road and bridge projects, work may be cancelled, postponed, or prolonged due to inclement weather. NYSDOT appreciates the patience and cooperation of motorists, mariners, and the local community while this project is undertaken.
